Where the MDL stands
As of early 2026, MDL 3172 is in its early stages. The JPML consolidated cases in February 2026. The MDL will move through coordinated discovery, then to bellwether trials, where representative cases are tried before juries. Bellwether outcomes typically shape settlement negotiations for the broader litigation.
This process can take 18 to 36 months from MDL formation to global settlement. Patience matters. So does filing early enough to be part of the litigation.
